Pueblo Man Faces Multiple Felony Charges After Failed Change Machine Theft

PUEBLO, Colorado — A suspect is facing multiple felony charges after Pueblo Police officers caught him attempting to steal a change machine on July 22, 2025.

Officers responded to an active theft report at a local commercial facility. Upon arrival, police observed a male suspect attempting to pry open and dismantle a heavy-duty change machine to access the cash inside. The suspect had already caused extensive damage to the property in his effort to extract the machine.

The individual attempted to flee the scene when confronted by arriving officers, but was quickly apprehended and taken into custody. Investigators recovered burglary tools and evidence linking the suspect to the scene. The suspect now faces charges of attempted grand theft, criminal mischief, possession of burglary tools, and obstructing a peace officer. He has been booked into the Pueblo County Detention Center awaiting his initial court appearance.
