Richmond Man Arrested After Forcing Entry into Ex-Girlfriend's Home and Biting Her

RICHMOND, Indiana — A local man is facing criminal charges after police say he forced his way into his ex-girlfriend's residence and assaulted her, in an incident that escalated to physical violence.

According to reports from the Richmond Police Department, officers were dispatched to a residential address following a domestic disturbance call. The victim informed responding officers that the suspect, identified as a Richmond resident, arrived at her home and demanded entry. When she refused, the suspect allegedly used physical force to breach the doorway and enter the premises against her will.

Once inside, a physical altercation ensued. Investigators state that during the struggle, the suspect assaulted the victim, which included biting her, causing visible injuries. Police officers arrived shortly thereafter and took the suspect into custody at the scene.

The suspect faces charges of residential entry and domestic battery. He is currently being held at the Wayne County Jail pending formal charges and his initial court appearance.
