'Frustrating and stressful': Surveillance video captures 2nd break-in in a month at Sac restaurant

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A Sacramento restaurant owner is speaking out about the mounting challenges of operating a small business after surveillance footage captured the second break-in at their establishment in less than a month. The recurring burglaries have left the owner feeling frustrated and stressed as they deal with property damage and lost revenue.

The latest incident occurred in the early hours of Thursday, when security cameras captured a suspect shattering the front glass door of the restaurant. Once inside, the intruder ransacked the counter area and made off with the cash drawer. The entire break-in took less than two minutes, leaving behind shattered glass and a damaged point-of-sale system.

"It is incredibly frustrating and stressful," the owner, who wished to remain anonymous, told KCRA. "You work so hard to build a business and keep it running, and then within a matter of minutes, someone comes in and takes what isn't theirs. Dealing with the repairs, the insurance claims, and the lost business twice in one month is exhausting."

Local business owners in the neighborhood have expressed similar concerns, noting a perceived uptick in commercial burglaries targeting the restaurant sector. The Sacramento Police Department is currently investigating the incident and reviewing the surveillance footage to identify the suspect. Authorities are encouraging anyone with information or additional security video from the area to come forward.
