Burglars Target Ballard Coffee Co. in Early Morning Break-In

SEATTLE, WA — A series of early morning burglaries has struck the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle, leaving local businesses dealing with property damage and security concerns. Among the businesses targeted was the Ballard Coffee Co. on 15th Avenue Northwest.

According to police reports, the break-in occurred around 1:46 a.m. on Tuesday, April 28, 2026. Surveillance footage captured a dark-colored SUV arriving at the scene. The suspects forced their way through the entrance of the coffee shop, located at 5905 15th Ave NW, and searched the interior.

Quick Theft and Escaping Suspects

Once inside, the burglars moved quickly. Rather than targeting heavy equipment, the suspects stole a bag containing tools valued at approximately $200 before fleeing the premises in the waiting SUV.

The burglary occurred just 45 minutes after another break-in at a nearby restaurant on Northwest Market Street. In both cases, the suspects utilized a dark SUV and forced entry, raising concerns among local business owners about a coordinated group targeting the neighborhood.

Call for Vigilance

Although the monetary value of the stolen tools was relatively low, the cost of repairing the damaged entrance is a significant burden. The Seattle Police Department is currently investigating whether the Ballard Coffee Co. break-in is connected to the nearby restaurant burglary. Business owners in Ballard are being urged to upgrade security measures and report any suspicious activity during late-night hours.
