Armed Suspects Posing as Amazon Delivery Drivers Assault Stamford Residents in Home Invasion
STAMFORD, CT โ Stamford police are investigating a violent and sophisticated home invasion that occurred on Tuesday. Two men, posing as Amazon delivery drivers, forced their way into a local residence, resulting in an assault on the home's occupants.
According to police reports, the suspects approached the front door of the Stamford residence carrying packages to mimic a routine delivery. When the residents opened the door, the men produced firearms and forced their way inside the home. Once inside, the intruders assaulted the residents, demanding cash and valuable personal items.
The victims sustained non-life-threatening injuries during the physical confrontation and were treated at a local hospital. The suspects fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash and valuables. Police description of the suspects indicates they wore clothing resembling delivery uniforms, a tactic increasingly used by home invasion crews to lower residents' guards.
Stamford Police Department's Major Crimes Unit has taken over the investigation. Detectives are canvassing the neighborhood for witness accounts and residential security camera footage, particularly ring-doorbell videos. Police urge residents to verify delivery orders before opening doors and to report any suspicious delivery activity immediately.
