St. Louis police are investigating an armed robbery and carjacking that occurred at a North Riverfront gas station early Tuesday morning, January 7, 2025. The victim was confronted at gunpoint while fueling his vehicle, highlighting ongoing safety concerns at overnight retail locations.
A Terrifying Early Morning Confrontation
The incident took place around 4:00 AM. According to the victim's statement, two armed individuals approached him as he stood near the fuel pumps. The suspects pointed handguns at him, demanding his personal belongings, including his wallet and cell phone, as well as the keys to his vehicle.
Fearing for his life, the victim complied with all demands. One suspect entered the victim's car and sped away, while the second suspect fled in a separate vehicle that had arrived with the carjackers. Fortunately, the victim did not sustain physical injuries during the encounter, though he was left shaken by the ordeal.
Investigation and Search for Suspects
St. Louis Metropolitan Police officers arrived shortly after the suspects fled and began searching the area. Investigators are retrieving video surveillance footage from the gas station's high-definition security system. Police are advising motorists to remain vigilant, keep car doors locked while refueling, and report any suspicious activity immediately.
