Thousand Oaks Mall Robbery Sparks High-Speed Police Pursuit into Los Angeles County

THOUSAND OAKS, CA — A robbery at a popular Thousand Oaks shopping center escalated into a multi-agency high-speed pursuit that crossed from Ventura County into Los Angeles County, ending with suspects in handcuffs.

The incident began in the afternoon when suspects entered a retail store inside the mall, grabbed high-value merchandise, and threatened employees before fleeing the scene. The suspects boarded a getaway vehicle, which was quickly spotted by responding deputies. When officers attempted a traffic stop, the driver accelerated, initiating a pursuit.

The chase moved onto major freeways, leading the pursuit through the Conejo Grade and across the border into Los Angeles County. Due to the high speeds and reckless driving displayed by the suspects, California Highway Patrol and Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department joined the effort, providing air support to track the vehicle. The pursuit concluded when the suspect vehicle was boxed in after exiting the freeway in Los Angeles. The occupants were detained and face charges of robbery, felony evading, and grand theft. No injuries were reported during the pursuit.
