Topeka Man Arrested Following Southwest Topeka Armed Robbery

TOPEKA, Kan. — A Topeka man has been arrested in connection with an armed robbery that occurred in southwest Topeka on Thursday, June 20, 2024.

According to the Topeka Police Department, officers responded to the scene of a reported armed robbery in the southwest quadrant of the city. The victim reported that a male suspect had approached them, brandished a weapon, and demanded personal belongings before fleeing the area on foot.

Detectives quickly identified a suspect based on descriptions and evidence gathered at the scene. Patrol officers located the suspect shortly after and took him into custody. He has been booked into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections on charges of aggravated robbery and possession of a weapon.

The investigation remains active, and police are working to confirm if the suspect is associated with any other recent robberies in the southwest Topeka area. No injuries were reported during the incident.
