Tyler Police Arrest Suspect Accused of Cutting Power to Rob Gas Station

TYLER, Texas — Law enforcement officers in Tyler have arrested a man accused of orchestrating a calculated robbery at a local gas station. According to police reports, the suspect took the unusual step of disabling the establishment's electrical grid prior to breaking in.

Investigators believe the suspect deliberately cut the power lines or flipped the main breaker to disable the convenience store's security cameras, alarm systems, and external lighting. With the security network offline, the suspect entered the building and proceeded to rob the store, hoping to evade detection and avoid leaving video evidence.
