Armed burglary reported in Audenshaw
According to an article published on 14 February 2026 by the Mirror, armed police were deployed to a residential street in Audenshaw, Tameside, following a report of an aggravated burglary. Greater Manchester Police stated that three suspects, dressed in dark clothing and wielding a machete, forced their way into an occupied home shortly after 3pm on a Friday.
Officers arrived at the scene within minutes of the initial report. Following an assessment of the property, police confirmed the suspects had fled. Approximately 40 minutes later, authorities located two 17-year-old boys matching the description of the suspects near a convenience store on Guide Lane. Both individuals were arrested; one has since been released on bail, while the other remains in custody for questioning.
Greater Manchester Police are treating the incident as an aggravated burglary and have confirmed that investigations are ongoing. Detective Chief Inspector Abdul Kahar emphasized that the force is working to identify all individuals involved.
