Home invasion reported in Ballymena

According to an article published on 13 April 2026 by Belfastlive, police are investigating an aggravated burglary that occurred at a private residence in the Andena Grange area of Ballymena. The incident took place on the evening of Saturday, 11 April.

Belfastlive reports that two men, described as being in their 20s and wearing baseball caps, gained entry to a flat between 8:30 pm and 10:00 pm. The occupant, a man in his 40s, was stabbed several times with a pair of scissors during the encounter. Despite the nature of the attack, the victim sustained only minor injuries and did not require hospital treatment. The assailants managed to steal the victim's wallet, mobile phone, and watch before the occupant fought them off.

The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) has launched an appeal for information regarding this incident. Detectives are requesting that anyone with relevant dash-cam or CCTV footage contact the Ballymena station. Ensure your doors are kept locked and verify the identity of unexpected visitors before granting them access to your home.
