Aggravated burglary at a private home in Birkenhead

Home invasion reported in Birkenhead

According to an article published by Liverpoolecho on 2 January 2026, Merseyside Police are investigating an aggravated burglary that occurred in Birkenhead on the night of 31 December. Two masked suspects reportedly entered a flat armed with a machete and threatened the residents before stealing a PlayStation 5 and a bottle of vodka.

Liverpoolecho reports that following police enquiries, four individuals were arrested in Poulton. A machete was recovered by officers, and the stolen console was successfully located. Two males, aged 18 and 16, have been charged with aggravated burglary and conspiracy to commit burglary with intent to steal. They were refused bail and are scheduled to appear at Liverpool Adult Remand Court. Two additional women were arrested on suspicion of the same offences and have been released on police bail pending further investigation. No injuries were reported during the incident.
