Violent home invasion in Newtownabbey

According to an article published by Loveballymenaonline on 7 July 2025, detectives are appealing for information following an aggravated burglary in the Whitewell Road area of Newtownabbey. The incident occurred shortly after 11.30pm on Sunday, 6 July.

Loveballymenaonline reports that three masked men forced entry into a private home. The male occupant, who was inside at the time, confronted the intruders as they moved upstairs and struck one of them on the head with an iron. The suspects, described as wearing dark clothing, gloves, hoods, and face coverings, responded by swinging weapons at the resident before fleeing the property toward the Antrim Road.

The resident sustained injuries to his head, finger, and forearms, requiring hospital treatment. Police have launched an investigation and are urging anyone with information to contact them by calling 101, quoting reference number 1643 of 06/07/25. Reports can also be made anonymously through Crimestoppers.
