Police investigate break-in at Sale supermarket

According to Men, forensics teams were deployed to a Tesco supermarket in Sale to gather evidence following an aggravated burglary. The incident occurred in the early hours of Monday, 10 June 2024, at the superstore located on Hereford Street.

Greater Manchester Police reported that officers were called to the scene at approximately 1:00 am. A witness stated that the store's door shutters appeared to have been rammed. Following the event, the main entrance was cordoned off and boarded up, though the supermarket remains open to customers via an alternative entrance.

According to the police, no arrests have been made at this stage and the investigation remains ongoing. Authorities are encouraging anyone with relevant information to contact them via 101, quoting incident 114 of 10/06/2024. A Tesco spokesperson confirmed that repairs to the main entrance are currently underway.

Business owners are encouraged to regularly inspect their security systems and perimeter fortifications to deter unauthorized access.
