Alexandria Man Charged in Arlington Tobacco Shop Robbery

An Alexandria man has been arrested and charged in connection with a commercial robbery at an Arlington tobacco shop, authorities announced. Police are actively investigating whether the suspect may also be linked to a similar incident in the city of Alexandria.

The incident occurred on the evening of June 3, 2026, when police responded to reports of a robbery in progress at a local tobacco store. According to the Arlington County Police Department, a male suspect entered the business, threatened employees, and fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash and merchandise. No injuries were reported during the incident.

Following a joint investigation between the Arlington County Police Department and the Alexandria Police Department, officers identified and apprehended the suspect, a resident of Alexandria. Charges include robbery and grand larceny. Detectives are currently reviewing surveillance footage and evidence from recent cases to determine if the suspect is responsible for other commercial thefts in neighboring jurisdictions.
