Alo Yoga Store on Chicago's Magnificent Mile Hit by Repeat Burglaries

CHICAGO, IL — The high-end activewear store Alo Yoga, located on Chicago's iconic Magnificent Mile near Superior Street, has been targeted by burglars twice in less than a month. The repeat offenses have intensified concerns about retail theft and smash-and-grab burglaries along the city's premier shopping corridor.

The first incident occurred in early June 2025, where suspects broke in and made off with a significant amount of merchandise. In the second incident, which took place in late June or early July 2025, a crew of burglars once again shattered the store's front glass window, entered the showroom, and quickly grabbed retail items before fleeing in awaiting vehicles.

Police Investigation and Community Response

Chicago police responded to the activated alarms in both cases, but the suspects had already fled. Investigators are analyzing surveillance footage from the store and street cameras, which show a coordinated effort by multiple individuals. The recurring nature of these incidents has prompted retail advocacy groups and local business associations on the Mag Mile to call for stricter enforcement and a stronger, more visible police presence to protect retail workers and establishments.
