Antique Shop Near Stourbridge Targeted in £5,000 Jewellery Heist
STOURBRIDGE — Police are investigating a burglary at an antique shop near Stourbridge, where thieves successfully stole jewellery valued at approximately £5,000.
The break-in, which took place in early October 2024, has dealt a severe blow to the business owner. The suspects managed to bypass security measures and quickly targeted display cases containing high-value vintage and antique items. Forensic officers have visited the shop to collect evidence, and officers are currently reviewing security footage from the premises and surrounding roads.
A spokesperson for the police urged local antique dealers, pawnbrokers, and online marketplaces to keep an eye out for any unique or high-value items of jewellery being offered under suspicious circumstances. “We are appealing to anyone who may have been in the area and noticed anything unusual, or who has been offered jewellery for sale recently, to get in touch,” the police statement read.
Community members have expressed their dismay at the theft, with local business networks sharing details of the stolen stock in hopes of recovering the items and bringing the perpetrators to justice.
