APD searching for suspects connected with north Austin grocery store robbery
A search is underway for three armed suspects who allegedly robbed a North Austin food mart at gunpoint earlier this month, according to the Austin Police Department.
The incident occurred on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at approximately 9:45 p.m. at Mi Pueblito, located at 8237 Research Boulevard. Detectives with the APD Robbery Unit reported that the three men entered the establishment, brandished firearms, and forced victims inside to lay on the ground. The suspects then proceeded to steal an undisclosed amount of cash from the register before fleeing the scene.
Police have released descriptions of the three suspects involved in the heist:
- Suspect #1: Described as a Hispanic male with a heavy build. He was last seen wearing a gray hoodie, a black face covering, blue jeans, and dirty work boots.
- Suspect #2: Described as a Hispanic male last seen wearing a gray hoodie, black and yellow gloves, a face covering, blue jeans, and white tennis shoes.
- Suspect #3: Described as a Hispanic male wearing an orange and gray University of Texas baseball hat, a black face covering, a two-tone long-sleeved button-down shirt, tan cargo pants, and white shoes.
Investigating officers believe the suspects fled the scene in a dark-colored Nissan sedan. The vehicle has no front license plate and displays visible damage on its front-right bumper. Additionally, police identified a person of interest seen on April 13, 2025, at 9436 Parkfield Drive, who appeared to leave the area in the same vehicle.
