Apple Valley Resident Shoots Suspected Home Invader in Self-Defense

APPLE VALLEY, CA — A home-invasion attempt took a dramatic turn when a resident opened fire on an intruder in Apple Valley, sending the suspect to the hospital.

San Bernardino County Sheriff's deputies responded to reports of a shooting at a local residence. Investigators determined that a suspect attempted to force entry into the home. Confronted by an armed occupant defending the property, the suspect was shot. The injured suspect fled the immediate scene but was later located by emergency responders and transported to a regional trauma center under police custody.
