Violent home invasion in Abingdon

According to an article published by Oxfordmail on 29 November 2025, a violent armed burglary took place at a private home on Ypres Way in Abingdon. Two men armed with knives gained entry to the property on Thursday evening.

Oxfordmail reports that during the incident, the male occupant was slashed on the hand while attempting to confront the intruders. The victim stated that his wife and nine-year-old son were held at knifepoint while the offenders demanded Rolex and Cartier watches. The suspects subsequently fled the scene with the items.

Thames Valley Police confirmed that the victim was treated at a hospital and later discharged. Officers, including armed units, were deployed to the area following a call at 5:37pm. As of Saturday, 29 November, no arrests have been made and an investigation remains ongoing. Police have requested that anyone with relevant CCTV or doorbell footage contact them via 101, quoting reference 43250605313.
