Armed robbery at a Betfred betting shop in Warrington

According to an article published on 13 June 2025 by Liverpoolecho, Cheshire Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at a Betfred betting shop on Reynolds Street in Warrington. The incident took place on Friday, June 6, at approximately 8:53 pm.

Liverpoolecho reports that a man entered the premises and threatened staff with a knife, demanding money. The suspect successfully fled the scene with a large quantity of cash, last seen riding a dark-coloured bicycle towards Newman Street and Broadbent Avenue. The individual is described as white, 6ft 3in tall, and of large build, wearing a thick black coat, dark navy pants, a black wool hat with a white Nike logo, a black face covering, and blue and yellow gardening gloves. He reportedly spoke with a Lancashire accent, possibly from the Wigan or Bolton area.

Police have released CCTV images of the suspect and are urging anyone with information, including dashcam footage, to contact Cheshire Police quoting IML 2105698 or provide information anonymously via Crimestoppers.

Business owners are encouraged to ensure that security cameras are fully operational and that staff are trained in emergency response procedures.
