Armed robbery at a corner shop in Waterbeach

According to an article published by Cambridgenews on 10 January 2025, a corner shop in Waterbeach was targeted by four masked men. The incident occurred at the One Stop store on Green Side at approximately 9pm on Thursday.

Cambridgenews reports that the suspects entered the premises armed with axes and an iron bar. They proceeded to threaten staff members and stole an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing the scene in a blue Vauxhall Mokka. This vehicle was later discovered abandoned in a lay-by on the A10, near Denny End Road, where it is believed the suspects switched to another vehicle to continue their escape. No injuries were reported during the encounter.

Cambridgeshire Police have launched an investigation and are appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant dash cam, phone, or CCTV footage to come forward. Officers have noted that while this is considered an isolated incident, there will be an increased police presence in the area. Members of the public with information are encouraged to contact the police quoting crime reference 35/1942/25.
