Armed robbery reported at Prudhoe fuel station

According to an article published on 28 April 2026 by Chroniclelive, a man has appeared in court accused of a suspected armed robbery at a fuel station in Prudhoe. Reece Gillon, 33, allegedly threatened a staff member with a kitchen knife at the Asda Express garage before stealing £170 from the till.

Chroniclelive reports that the incident occurred at approximately 7.30am on Sunday, April 26. Following a police investigation, Gillon was arrested on Monday, April 27. He appeared at South East Northumberland Magistrates' Court charged with robbery and possession of a bladed article. As the case is indictable, it has been referred to Newcastle Crown Court, where Gillon is scheduled to appear on May 26. The staff member involved was reported to be unharmed.
