According to an article published by Northantstelegraph on 27 February 2026, a post office in Woodford was the target of an armed robbery. The incident occurred on Tuesday, February 24, at approximately 6pm on High Street.
Northantstelegraph reports that a masked man, dressed in a black hooded tracksuit, entered the premises and demanded money from the postmistress. After she refused, the suspect brandished a knife he had concealed in his sleeve and proceeded to take the till. Following the theft, the suspect fled the scene, reportedly moving through nearby gardens and being spotted by customers in Mill Road.
The postmistress, who activated an alarm and sought help from the public, expressed frustration regarding the police response time.
