Armed robbery at a Banbury store

According to an article published by Oxfordmail on 3 May 2025, an armed robbery took place at the Quick Stop store located on Warwick Road in Banbury. The incident occurred at approximately 7.30am on Friday, May 2.

Oxfordmail reports that a man, dressed in black with his hood up and a mask covering the lower part of his face, entered the premises and made threats toward the staff. It is believed that the individual was carrying a knife. The offender proceeded to steal tobacco and cigarettes before fleeing the scene in the direction of Foundry Street and the Southam Road Cemetery. No injuries to staff were reported.

Thames Valley Police have released a CCTV image of a man they wish to speak with regarding the incident. Authorities are requesting that anyone with information or relevant footage from Warwick Road, Foundry Street, or the area surrounding Southam Road Cemetery contact the police by calling 101 or by submitting details via their website.

Business owners are encouraged to review their security protocols and ensure that staff are trained in procedures for handling aggressive encounters.
