Armed robbery at a Subway restaurant in Salford

According to an article published on 1 February 2026, Greater Manchester Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at a Subway restaurant located at the Ellesmere Retail Park in Walkden, Salford. The Mirror reports that a masked man, dressed in all black, entered the premises on Saturday night and threatened staff with a suspected firearm.

According to the Mirror, the suspect arrived at the location in a black car between 8:25 pm and 8:35 pm. After brandishing the weapon, the individual fled the scene with a small amount of cash. The suspect is described as being approximately six feet tall and was wearing a black hooded coat, black trousers, and trainers.

Greater Manchester Police have described the incident as concerning and have increased patrols in the area to provide a reassuring presence. Officers are currently appealing for anyone with relevant CCTV, dashcam, or mobile phone footage to come forward. Information can be provided to the police by quoting log 3045 of 31/01/26.
