Armed Robbery at In-Store Bellingham Bank Branch; Police Search for Lone Suspect

BELLINGHAM, WA โ€” A search is underway for a lone suspect following an armed robbery at a bank branch located inside a Bellingham grocery store on Tuesday, April 2, 2024.

According to the Bellingham Police Department, the suspect entered the grocery store, approached the counter of the in-store bank branch, and brandished a weapon while demanding cash from the teller. After receiving an undisclosed amount of money, the suspect fled the scene on foot.

Police officers, including K-9 units, quickly arrived at the store and searched the surrounding area, but the suspect remains at large. No customers or employees were injured during the robbery, although the incident left many shaken.

Authorities have released a description of the suspect and are actively reviewing security footage from the grocery store. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Bellingham Police Department immediately.
