Armed Robbery at South Wichita Home Barbershop Leaves Suspect Shot

An armed robbery at a residential garage barbershop in south Wichita ended in gunfire on June 11, 2025, leaving one suspect wounded and hospitalized, while police continue their search for a second armed individual.

Home Barbershop Robbed at Gunpoint

According to the Wichita Police Department, the incident occurred at a residence in the 2100 block of South Lulu Street. Victims were operating a home barbershop out of a detached garage when two masked men armed with handguns forced their way inside.

The suspects demanded money and valuables from those present. During the altercation, gunshots were fired. A brief struggle ensued, and the suspects fled the garage on foot.

Wounded Suspect Apprehended

Shortly after responding to the call, police found one of the suspects, an 18-year-old male, nearby suffering from a gunshot wound to the shoulder. He was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and, upon release, was booked into the Sedgwick County Jail on suspicion of aggravated robbery.

The circumstances surrounding who fired the shot that struck the suspect remain under investigation. Wichita police are actively seeking the second masked suspect, who fled the area and is considered armed and dangerous.
