Armed Robbery at West Wichita Massage Business Leaves Employee Restrained

A west Wichita massage business was the scene of a frightening armed robbery on Wednesday afternoon, during which an employee was restrained by two armed suspects. The Wichita Police Department is actively searching for the perpetrators and seeking information from the public.

Terrifying Midday Robbery

The incident occurred on August 28, 2024, at Ocean Massage, located in the 2400 block of West 13th Street. According to police reports, two men entered the establishment shortly before 1:00 p.m. armed with a firearm. Once inside, they confronted a 49-year-old female employee.

The employee reported to police that the suspects physically restrained her while they ransacked the business, searching for cash. The suspects stole an undisclosed amount of money from the register and the premises before fleeing the scene.

Victim Escapes and Calls 911

Fortunately, the employee did not sustain physical injuries during the encounter. Once the suspects had fled, she was able to free herself and escape the building to contact emergency services. Officers responded swiftly, but the suspects had already left the area.

Investigators are analyzing local surveillance footage in hopes of identifying the two suspects. The Wichita Police Department urges anyone with information about the robbery or who may have observed suspicious activity near West 13th Street around midday on August 28 to contact detectives or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers.
