According to an article published on 28 May 2026, Derrydaily reports that two men have been charged following an armed robbery of a cash-in-transit driver in Greysteel, County Londonderry. Police received a report at noon on a Saturday regarding an incident outside a shop and filling station on Clooney Road.

Two masked men, described as wearing gloves and 'old man masks', approached a cash-in-transit van guard while he was inside an ATM bunker at the side of the shop. One suspect, reportedly armed with a handgun, threatened the guard and demanded a cash cassette. The suspects fled on foot across Clooney Road toward the St Columbas Walk area with the stolen cassette. Neither guard sustained physical injuries during the incident.
