Armed Robbery Under Investigation at Westside Grocery in Albany

ALBANY, GA — Local law enforcement officers are investigating a commercial armed robbery that occurred at the Westside Grocery on Monday, October 6, 2025. The incident has raised safety concerns among residents in the surrounding neighborhood, who rely on the local convenience store for daily necessities.

According to initial reports released by the Albany Police Department, the suspect entered the Westside Grocery store during business hours. Witnesses stated the individual displayed a firearm and demanded money from the cashier. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect quickly exited the store and fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction.

Albany Police Department units arrived shortly after the incident was reported to secure the scene, interview store employees, and canvas the surrounding neighborhood for any witnesses. Fortunately, no employees or customers were injured during the course of the robbery.

“Westside Grocery has been a staple in this neighborhood for years, and it is disturbing to see it targeted in this manner,” remarked a nearby resident. “We hope the police are able to identify the suspect quickly to keep our community safe.”
