Armed Teen Arrested After Firing Shot at Clerk in Fort Worth McDonald's Robbery
FORT WORTH, Texas — A teenage suspect is in custody following a terrifying armed robbery attempt at a McDonald's restaurant in west Fort Worth, during which he fired a gun at an employee's head. The arrest followed a public appeal for information on FOX 4's "Trackdown" program.
Terror at West Risinger McDonald's
The incident occurred at approximately 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at the McDonald's located at 4375 West Risinger Road in Fort Worth. Surveillance video showed a male suspect entering the restaurant wearing a ski mask and a black athletic sweatsuit with white stripes.
The suspect approached the counter, brandished a handgun, and pointed it directly at the cashier's head while demanding cash from the register. During the confrontation, the suspect fired a single shot at the employee's head from a distance of about six feet. Miraculously, the bullet missed the cashier. The shooter then panicked and fled the restaurant empty-handed.
Teen Suspect Captured and Linked to Multiple Robberies
Fort Worth Robbery Detective Brian Raynsford worked with FOX 4's Shawn Williams on the "Trackdown" segment, releasing clear surveillance clips of the suspect's build and clothing. The broadcast led to crucial tips that allowed police to identify and arrest the suspect.
Following the arrest, authorities revealed that the suspect is a 16-year-old juvenile. In addition to the McDonald's shooting, detectives have linked the teenager to several other business robberies across the city of Fort Worth. He faces charges of aggravated robbery and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
