According to an article published on 10 February 2025 by Nzheraldconz, police have launched an investigation following a robbery at an Armourguard facility on Auckland’s North Shore. The incident occurred as security staff were conducting a delivery to an ATM on Birkenhead Ave.

According to Nzheraldconz, Detective Inspector Simon Harrison of the Waitematā CIB confirmed that an unconfirmed amount of cash was stolen during the encounter. Witnesses reported that an individual wearing a high-vis jacket, mask, and goggles approached the security staff, allegedly brandishing a firearm before fleeing the scene in a black Suzuki Swift. No injuries were reported during the incident.

Police have cordoned off the area to conduct a scene examination and are currently reviewing security footage. Authorities are requesting that anyone who witnessed the event or observed suspicious activity in the vicinity contact the police via the 105 service, referencing file number P061584274, or provide information anonymously through Crime Stoppers.

Businesses are encouraged to regularly review and update their security protocols to ensure the safety of staff and assets during cash handling procedures.
