ATM Smash-and-Grab: Vehicle Driven Through West Indianapolis Laundromat

INDIANAPOLIS, IN — In what the business owner has described as adding "insult to injury," a west side Indianapolis laundromat was targeted in a destructive overnight ATM smash-and-grab. Surveillance cameras captured the entire incident, showing the moment a vehicle crashed through the building's storefront to access the automated teller machine inside.

The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning when the suspects lined up a vehicle and drove it directly through the glass doors and brick facade of the laundromat. The high-impact collision shattered the storefront, creating a massive opening for the perpetrators to enter. Once inside, the two individuals quickly loaded the business's ATM into the vehicle before fleeing the scene.

The shop owner expressed deep frustration over the incident, noting the astronomical cost of repairs compared to the cash stolen. "The damage to the building is far worse than what they got from the ATM," the owner said. "It's a huge setback for a small business that serves the local community."

Local police are investigating the heist and analyzing the surveillance video to identify the vehicle and the two suspects. The IMPD is asking anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the area or who has information about the vehicle involved to contact investigators.
