ATM stolen from shop in Bridge of Weir

According to an article published on 18 August 2025 by the Dailyrecord, police are searching for three masked men following a break-in at a shop in Bridge of Weir, Renfrewshire. The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning, with officers receiving a report of the break-in at the Co-op on Main Street at approximately 3.55am.

Dailyrecord reports that the suspects used a Mitsubishi L200 pick-up truck to crash into the premises, damaging the shutters to gain entry. The three men, described as wearing face coverings, red gloves, and dark clothing, proceeded to steal an ATM from the shop. The suspects subsequently fled the scene in a grey Audi S3, heading towards Johnstone, and are believed to have traveled toward the Dalry area.

Forensic officers were present at the location throughout the day to gather evidence. Detective constable Ryan McGuire of Police Scotland has appealed for anyone with information or private CCTV footage to contact the authorities, referencing incident number 0473 of August 18, 2025. Enquiries into the theft are ongoing.

Business owners are encouraged to review their security measures and ensure that alarm systems and surveillance cameras are fully operational.
