According to an article published by the Dailyrecord on 30 June 2025, police have launched an investigation following a break-in at a Co-Op store on Perth Road in Scone. The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, 29 June 2025.

Dailyrecord reports that officers were called to the scene at approximately 3.15am after an alarm was raised. Witnesses observed a pick-up truck being used to haul the cash machine from the wall of the building. Debris was scattered across the road, and a quantity of cash was stolen during the heist.

Police Scotland confirmed that enquiries are ongoing and no arrests have been made at this stage. Officers are appealing for anyone with information to contact 101, quoting reference 0636 of June 29, 2025.

Business owners are encouraged to review their security measures and consider installing reinforced barriers or bollards to prevent vehicle-ramming attacks on storefronts.
