Ram raid reported at Burwell supermarket
According to Cambridgenews, a cash machine was stolen from an Asda supermarket located on Ness Road in Burwell. Cambridgeshire Police were called to the scene just before 5am on Wednesday, June 17, 2026.
Reports indicate that a stolen telehandler, supported by two additional vehicles, was used to smash into the front of the premises to remove the ATM. This incident marks the second ram raid reported in the county within two days. Detective Inspector Jim Donington stated that dedicated patrols have been deployed while the investigation remains active.
Police are currently appealing for any witnesses or individuals possessing dashcam, doorbell, or CCTV footage to come forward. Information can be reported by calling 101 and quoting incident 51 of June 17.
Business owners are encouraged to review their security measures and ensure that external areas are monitored to deter unauthorized vehicle access.
