According to an article published by Planetradio on 17 June 2026, police are investigating a ram raid that occurred at a supermarket in Burwell. Officers responded to reports at 4.57am on 17 June that a stolen telehandler, supported by two additional vehicles, was used to extract a cash machine from the front of the Asda store on Ness Road.
Planetradio reports that this incident marks the second ram raid to occur in Cambridgeshire within a two-day period. Detective Inspector Jim Donington stated that dedicated patrols have been deployed while the investigation into both events continues. Authorities are currently appealing for information from the public, specifically requesting witnesses or anyone in possession of dashcam, doorbell, or CCTV footage to come forward to assist with the inquiry.
