According to an article published by Stokesentinel on 21 March 2026, a Morrisons Daily store in Brown Edge, Staffordshire, was targeted in an early-morning burglary on Friday, March 20. Staffordshire Police reported that the incident occurred at approximately 2:20 am.
According to Stokesentinel, unknown suspects forced entry into the premises and specifically targeted the store’s ATM to remove its cash cassettes. A witness observed a man wearing a balaclava loading items into the boot of a dark-coloured car before the suspects fled the scene. The store was temporarily closed to allow for forensic investigations.
District councillor Joe Porter described the incident as deeply concerning for the local community and the affected staff. Staffordshire Police have launched an investigation and are requesting that any witnesses contact them by calling 101 and quoting incident 35 of March 20.
Businesses are encouraged to review their security measures, including the reinforcement of ATM installations and the use of high-quality surveillance systems, to deter potential intruders.
