According to an article published by Eveningnews24 on 21 October 2024, a couple and their twin babies were left terrified during an attempted aggravated burglary at their home on Music House Lane, Norwich. The incident, which occurred on 17 October 2023, involved three masked men who targeted the property believing it contained drugs and cash.
Eveningnews24 reports that the householder barricaded the door while the intruders, Nile Mustafa, Ricardo Monteiro, and Piers Ewens, attempted to force entry using a crowbar and kicks. Mustafa was seen wielding what was initially believed to be an imitation firearm, though later forensic analysis confirmed it was a viable, lethal weapon loaded with ammunition.
Following the attempted break-in, the three men were apprehended and sentenced at Norwich Crown Court. Mustafa received an extended 13-year sentence, Monteiro was jailed for four years and nine months, and Ewens was issued an 18-month Youth Rehabilitation Order. The court noted the severe distress caused to the victims during the confrontation.
