According to an article published by Men on 27 May 2026, armed police were called to the Masonic Hall in Swinton, Salford, following an attempted robbery at an antiques and vintage jewellery event. Three suspects, wearing balaclavas and black clothing, entered the venue and demanded goods from those in attendance.
According to Men, witnesses reported that one suspect was armed with a BB gun and another with a baseball bat. A physical altercation occurred between the suspects and members of the public, during which the BB gun was recovered. The suspects subsequently fled the scene. Greater Manchester Police confirmed that one member of the public sustained a minor injury during the incident. No arrests have been made at this time, and an investigation is currently underway.
