Attempted burglaries in Mold and Mynydd Isa

According to an article published by Northwalesdailypost, two men have been convicted for their roles in a series of attempted burglaries that occurred on 22 February 2026. Leon Longmore and Sam Roberts, both 23, targeted residential properties in Mynydd Isa and Mold while masked and armed with what appeared to be a gun.

The first incident took place at a home on Maes y Coed, Mynydd Isa, where the occupants observed two males attempting to force entry via their front door. Following this, the defendants moved to a property on Victory Court, Mold. According to Northwalesdailypost, the residents heard loud banging and glass smashing before a man opened the door to find the two masked individuals. One of the men pointed an imitation firearm at the occupant, who subsequently retreated to secure a baseball bat for protection.

Longmore and Roberts later fled the scene after a police vehicle passed their getaway car. Both men subsequently admitted to two charges of attempted burglary with intent to steal and one charge of possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.
