Attempted burglary at a petrol station in Tarporley

Police appeal following attempted burglary in Tarporley

According to an article published by Cheshirelive on 5 May 2026, police are appealing for witnesses and video footage following an attempted burglary at a convenience store in Tarporley. Officers were called to the Spar store and petrol station on High Street at approximately 10:25 pm on Monday, 4 May, following an alarm activation.

Upon arrival, officers discovered that a fire door had been forced open and a CCTV camera had been tampered with. It is believed that the suspects were disturbed by the alarm and fled the scene empty-handed. Police are specifically seeking information regarding a dark Audi estate car seen traveling along Eaton Road and fleeing via Nantwich Road.

Police Constable Grace Rimmer of the Northwich Local Policing Unit stated that the investigation is in its early stages, with enquiries currently focused on forensics and available footage. Anyone with information or relevant dashcam, CCTV, or doorbell footage is encouraged to contact Cheshire Constabulary at 101, quoting reference IML-2322292.

Business owners are encouraged to regularly test alarm systems and ensure that all entry points are secured with high-quality, tamper-resistant locks.
