Attempted burglary at a Gillingham supermarket

According to an article published by Dorsetecho on 29 December 2025, police are appealing for witnesses following an attempted burglary at an Asda supermarket in Station Road, Gillingham. The incident occurred at approximately 11:30 pm on Thursday, 25 December.

Dorsetecho reports that three individuals forced entry into the foyer area of the store and attempted to steal money from a cash machine. The suspects were unable to gain access to the ATM and subsequently fled the scene. Dorset Police are currently investigating the break-in and have requested that anyone with information, or those who may have dashcam footage from the vicinity at the time of the incident, contact them quoting occurrence number 55250188972. Information can also be provided anonymously through the charity Crimestoppers.
