According to an article published on 6 May 2026, three men have been charged following an attempted theft of a cash machine at a Waitrose supermarket located on Park Lane in Poynton, near Stockport. According to Men, the incident occurred at approximately 9:10pm on a Sunday in September of last year.

Cheshire Police reported that officers arrived at the scene to find that the store had been broken into. The force stated that the attempt to steal the cash machine inside the premises was unsuccessful. Following an investigation, three men from Greater Manchester were arrested and subsequently charged with one count of burglary other than a dwelling with intent to steal. According to Men, the individuals are scheduled to appear at Crewe Magistrates Court on Tuesday, 12 June.
