According to an article published by Expressandstar on 3 March 2026, two individuals are currently in police custody following an attempted theft at a jewellery store in Wolverhampton. West Midlands Police officers were called to the premises on Dudley Road, Blakenhall, at approximately 5.30pm on Monday, 2 March.

Expressandstar reports that a 35-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman, both from London, were detained after allegedly attempting to leave the shop with ยฃ15,000 worth of jewellery without payment. The suspects were unable to exit the building as the door was locked. In addition to the incident in Wolverhampton, the pair are facing a second count of theft relating to a similar event that reportedly occurred in Wales the previous week. The suspects remain in custody while investigations continue.

Business owners are encouraged to ensure that security systems and access control measures are regularly tested to prevent unauthorised exits and entries.
