Failed burglary attempts in Willerby
According to an article published on 14 September 2025 by Hulllive, a man was caught on CCTV attempting to break into residential properties in Willerby. Adam Wright, 31, was observed in the early hours of 3 August 2025 targeting homes on Kingston Road.
Hulllive reports that Wright attempted to force entry into multiple garages and a summer house. While he successfully opened the door to a summer house, he did not take any property from the premises. Further attempts to gain entry to the main houses and vehicles were unsuccessful. Police were alerted to the activity and arrested Wright nearby, where he was found in possession of bolt croppers.
Hull Crown Court heard that Wright, who has a history of previous theft-related convictions, admitted to two offences of attempted burglary. During the proceedings, it was noted that the defendant was homeless at the time of the incidents. He has since expressed remorse for his actions and the impact on the residents.
Ensure all external doors and windows are securely locked, even when you are at home, to deter unauthorized access.
