Back-to-Back Smash-and-Grabs Target New Lenox Bar and Mokena Liquor Store

NEW LENOX, IL — A pair of commercial establishments in the Lincoln-Way area were targeted in back-to-back smash-and-grab burglaries during the early morning hours, sparking a multi-jurisdictional police investigation.

According to authorities, the break-ins occurred in rapid succession. The suspects first targeted a popular bar in New Lenox, shattering the glass entry to gain access to the premises. Once inside, they targeted cash registers and valuable merchandise before fleeing the scene.

Shortly thereafter, a similar break-in was reported at a liquor store in neighboring Mokena. Police believe the same crew may be responsible for both incidents due to the matching entry methods and timing. Investigators are currently reviewing security footage and collecting evidence from both locations. Anyone with information is urged to contact local police.
