Bellevue Man Arrested in $100K Burglary Utilizing Stolen Car and Garage Remote
BELLEVUE, TN โ Bellevue police officers have arrested a local man in connection with a residential burglary that resulted in the theft of over $100,000 in property, electronics, and valuables. The suspect allegedly utilized a combination of a stolen vehicle and a garage remote to gain unauthorized entry to the home.
According to the police affidavit, the victim had reported their vehicle stolen earlier in the week. The vehicle contained a garage door remote programmed to the victim's home. The suspect reportedly returned to the victim's neighborhood using the stolen vehicle and entered the house through the garage without triggering any signs of forced entry.
Once inside the residence, the suspect ransacked multiple rooms, targeting high-end electronics, designer jewelry, and personal documents. Neighbors reported seeing suspicious activity and alerted local authorities, who intercepted the suspect as he attempted to leave the area in the stolen car.
The suspect faces multiple charges, including aggravated burglary, grand theft auto, and possession of stolen property. Detective Marcus Vance stated, 'This arrest highlights the importance of securing garage remotes and not leaving them inside vehicles parked outside homes. We are pleased to recover a portion of the victim's property and bring this suspect to justice.'
