Bizarre CCTV Shows Keighley Burglars Making Slow-Motion Escape on Golf Buggies
KEIGHLEY, West Yorkshire โ Bizarre security camera footage has emerged showing a group of burglars making an unusual slow-motion getaway on stolen golf buggies following consecutive night raids at local sports clubs.
The investigations cover a series of break-ins targeting Keighley Golf Club on Keelham Lane, Utley, and the Keighley Rugby Union Football Club (RUFC) on Skipton Road, which took place in early January 2026.
Sports Clubs Targeted in Night Raids
According to West Yorkshire Police, the suspects first targeted Keighley Golf Club overnight between January 7 and 8, 2026. The intruders breached the premises, stealing three golf buggies, along with alcohol and knives. Undeterred, the group returned to the golf club the following night (January 9) to steal a fourth buggy and additional bottles of alcohol.
Simultaneously, the group targeted Keighley RUFC on Skipton Road on both January 8 and 9, causing significant structural damage to the facilities during their break-ins.
CCTV footage captured during the incidents showed the burglars driving the stolen buggies in a slow-motion convoy down local roads to escape, a visual that police released to the public in an appeal for identification.
Arrests Made After Public Appeal
Following widespread media coverage of the unusual CCTV footage, police officers arrested four male suspects in connection with the burglaries. The arrested individuals include:
- A 19-year-old man
- Two 18-year-old men
- A 16-year-old boy
All four suspects have been released on police bail pending further enquiries, and several of the stolen golf buggies have since been recovered by police officers and returned to the golf club.
